Day 1
Wake up is at 4 am and formation is at 4:20. After that you will stand at parade rest waiting for your DI to do role then take you to chow. After that you will go get your eyes checked, your ears checked, your teeth checked then they will take you to the px to get the shit you need.
A list of things they don’t tell you to bring that you should get:
Panty liners for breaking in your boots
Comfortable white, black, or nude underwear - all you get here is granny panties, and comfortable black or white running shoes, the ones at the px ate 70 each and they our feet like hell.
Females: jell, good tampons, bandana or shower cap to wear when you sleep
Males: just get your head SHAVED (to the skin) before you leave, here they aren’t nice and it costs the same.
After that you will go to chow and come back and make sure everyone has their shit done and you will get your ID’s made. After that you pretty much wait around until chow. After chow you will get a speech from the first Ssg then you will be released to go back to the bay. At ft sill while you are at reception you can used your phone to CALL people one hour a night. Lights of at 2000 and you get to sleep until 4 unless you have fire guard.

DAY 0
Day “zero” is the day that you get here. Because it is not your first full day you will not be called day ones. What will happen as soon as you get here is 1. Wait for more shippers. 2. Get issued your blue book or “smart book” and your water bottle 3. You will get issued two flat white sheets one pillow one flat white pillow case and two wool blankets. 4. They will give you the option to eat a “box” dinner. It may not look appealing but you need to eat it. Because I promise you won’t eat much within day 1 & 2 until your battle buddies realize they need to wait for everyone at the table and stop being assholes.
Advice for day 0:
FEMALES: do not even THINK about having nail polish on. Especially on day one.
Everyone: Be considerate, be smart, pay attention, be quiet, and be quick. Also. Go to bed in your pt shorts and short that they make you try on and your pair of green socks so you are ready for the morning. They will only give you 20 minutes to get up do your hair put your shit on and get in formation. And you better not be late.

Fire gaurd watch.
I had some fucking female shake me to wake me up and since my ass has gotten on duty 2 DI’s have walked in and given me day zeros. Who are loud and like lost brain damaged puppies. And if it’s anything like last night these dumb asses are going to wake me up to ask the dumbest questions when I’m not the one on duty. If that happens I will be arrested for murder.
Anyhow, I’m going to tell you guys about the first days at reception!
